That’s My Take

That’s My Take was a youth development project where professional filmmakers mentored over 120 teens who created short films, or book trailers, to promote books and reading. That’s My Take encouraged youth voices, creativity, participation in the arts, and literacy. Through workshops given by the filmmakers, and peer mentoring, youth learned the ins and outs of filmmaking and each participant helped write, direct, and produce a short video.

The Library collaborated with Pan Left Productions, the University of Arizona Media Arts Department, Loft Cinema, Voices: community stories past and present, EchoPark Productions, and the City of Tucson. That’s My Take was made possible by the generous support of Friends of the Pima County Public Library.

That’s My Take ran from 2006 to 2015. You can view all 47 videos on a playlist on YouTube.
