The Rondstadt Transit Center is Tucson is named after the Rondstadt family. The Rondstadts were one of the pioneering families in Tucson. The Arizona Memory Project houses photos of two Rondstadts: Colonel Frederick Ronstadt, opens a new window (1816-1889) and Federico Ronstadt, opens a new window (1868-1954), grandfather of singer Linda Rondstadt.
The transit center is located at East Congress and North Sixth Avenue. The site of the transit center was a hardware store F. Rondstadt Hardware Co. that was founded in 1888. The Rondstadt transit center was open in 1991.
