From the beginnings in 1984 of the Tucson Balloon Festival to the end in 1993 with the Old Pueblo Balloon Classic there was a large hot air balloon festival in Tucson. The festivals occurred in vacant areas around the Midvale Park area of Tucson. The Old Pueblo Balloon Classic was cancelled in 1994, and did not resume, because there was no available venue to host the event.
