The Manuel Herrera, Jr. Park at 5901 S. Fiesta Avenue, was renamed from Fiesta Park In December 2003. The park is named after one of the founding members of the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association, Manuel Herrera, Jr. who helped turn a vacant, trash-filled lot into Fiesta Park in 1997.
Manuel Herrera Jr. was also very active in the neighborhood association dealing with neighborhood issues, environmental issues and transportation issues.
