David Bell was a devoted fan of UA and high school sporting events, particularly those involving Tucson High School. Bell was killed in 1987 while riding his bike home from a Tucson-Sabino girls basketball game.
The David Bell Bike/Walking Path, aka David Bell Multi-Use Path, is 2.8 miles long and loops around the outer edges of the Randolph North and Dell Urich Golf Courses.
