The Barrio Blue Moon neighborhood was named after the Blue Moon Ballroom, which opened in the neighborhood in 1920. The boundaries of this neighborhood were Lester Street on the north, North Oracle Road/North Main Avenue on the east, North 15th Avenue and the Southern Pacific Railroad traces to the west, and West Speedway to the south. The ballroom burned down March 16, 1947.
