Pride

Be yourself, we're here for everyone!

Since 1997, the Library's Pride Committee has committed itself to providing welcoming, inclusive opportunities for everyone. In the last year we have seen more transphobia and homophobia than we have in a long time. Between the calls for banning queer books, and the demands for LGBTQ+ political figures to step down, it is clear that the LGBTQ+ community is under threat both in Arizona and in the nation at large.

In light of this, we wish to state our position clearly:

The library stands in support of the trans and wider LGBTQ+ communities. We will continue to provide materials by and about trans and queer people of all ages. We will continue to welcome trans and queer community members into our branches. The library is free and open to all, and we serve everyone.

We love you, we support you, and we want you here.
