Every year, the LGBTQ+ Services Committee, opens a new window has invited an author to speak to the PCPL community. These authors have been gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, genderqueer, or otherwise queer members of the LGBTQ+ community, and have been authors of fiction and nonfiction, prose and poetry. We’ve held these talks at the Loft Cinema on Speedway, in our library meeting rooms, and even, once, outside in Himmel Park!
Even with the pandemic and our inability to gather in person, we knew that the show had to go on! We were happy to invite Robin Talley, opens a new window, a YA author living in Washington, DC, to join us via GoToWebinar on Saturday, October 24, in the afternoon. We got to see a bit into her writing process, her books, and what the future looks like for her and the greater community of LGBTQ+ literature for young readers.
After you watch, check out some of her novels, opens a new window, which are all available to read through PCPL.
You can also read a Q&A, opens a new window to learn even more about Robin, read an excerpt from her upcoming release, opens a new window, The Love Curse of Melody Mcintyre, and see some of her recommended short story collections, opens a new window!
Check out the talk!
