Pima County Public Library (PCPL) is proud to partner with Goodwill Career Centers, Arizona @ Work, DES, Beacon Group, and others for the DREAM Job Fair on October 26th from 10am to 1pm. October is Disability & Rehabilitation Employment Awareness Month and every year the dedicated members of the DREAM committee get together and organize a job fair for any person with a disability and as needed, their parents or family, caretakers or guardians.
This year over 35 employers and 12 community resources will be represented at the fair, ready to talk to you and take your resumes. PCPL plays its part in providing computers at the fair for job seekers to connect and apply with employers online or polish their resumes.
The DREAM Job Fair has been active in Southern Arizona for more than a decade. This is your opportunity to meet face-to-face with many employers in the greater Tucson area. If you want to know what choices you have for jobs, this is the time to find out.
Jody Gardner, co-chair of the DREAM Committee and Associate Director of Employment Services for Banner Health Plans, says, “The DREAM Job Fair strives to make the idea of working a reality for people with disabilities. By providing the opportunity to get in front of employers who want a diverse and inclusive workforce, we are working to change the status quo.”
Mitch Eskritt, co-chair of the DREAM Committee and Director of Marketing and Development for Beacon Group, says, “Two-thirds of working age people with disabilities do not have a job. The DREAM Job Fair aims to change that by creating a space where people with disabilities can meet employers who want to build a high quality, diverse workforce.”
The DREAM Job Fair runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Kino Event Center, Kino North Complex at 2805 E. Ajo Way, on Thursday, October 26th.
