Murphy-Wilmot Library invites you to view the work of local youth artists Timo and Gigi during the month of August.
RED SUN, Asian inspired theme and Wonders of the World from August 1-August 15
PRETTY THINGS inspired by animals and faces from August 16-August 30
All artwork by Timo and Gigi utilizes non-toxic mixed media materials on canvas, paper, and cardboard. Many of their compositions are inspired by other artists' work, including local and international masters.
Artist statements:
Timo (9) is a 4th-grade student at Academy of Tucson and a member of the Drawing Studio. He has also taken art classes at the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation, Mountain Guild Art Gallery, and 'Tis Annex Art Education in Prescott. His work has been featured in several galleries over the past few years, and he aspires to become a professional artist.
Gigi (6) is a 1st-grade student at BASiS Tucson Primary and a ballet student at Gotta Dance and City of Tucson Parks and Recreation. She also enjoys bicycle riding and swimming in her free time. According to Gigi, "When I grow up, I want to be a ballerina and an artistic fashion designer."
