Art Exhibit ~ Ibrahim Khazzaka

Eckstrom-Columbus Library invites you to view the work of local artist Ibrahim Khazzaka. The exhibit will be on display until February 28, 2025.

"I believe that innovation thrives at the border of culture and that risking my comfort is necessary for my creative process. That’s why I bring together a deep affinity for sensual experiences, varied considerations in design, intercultural dialogues, place-making, material research, and my rich cultural landscape.

The Veils of Dawn [showing at the Eckstrom-Columbus Public Library through the end of February] are stages through spaces of quiet transition. Each piece is a fragment of the sky, stretched out of a slab of porcelain into a thinness so fine and fragile, carefully folded, layered snuggly on top of upholstered canvas. These layers of hard and soft materials transport me to a place where I can pause and feel held by something much greater. They whisper of sensualities that reside in ever-shifting hues of a fresh day. I offer as an invitation to wander with me through the sure and tender break of a new day: that your heart might rest in the ever-shifting beauty of a new day.”
