Eckstrom-Columbus Library invites you to an exhibit by local artist Floyd Thompson, on display until July 31, 2024.
Artist statement:
Floyd Thompson is a Pencil and Ink artist and a Hand drawn Digital artist.
“I have been drawing my entire life. As a Tucson Native, I gain most of my inspiration from the city, itself, and the surrounding desert. I love bold colors and think that I have a knack for combining colors that, traditionally, don’t go together. As a Black man, I almost always incorporate aspects of my culture into my art. Why can’t Pinocchio be a young Black Boy? Why can’t Little Red Riding Hood have ‘locs? At the end of the day, I hope that my art will help the viewer see things from a different perspective”.
