Artist Statement:

Dolores Gonzalez Haro was born in Los Angeles on October 7, 1963 to Jose Reyes Gonzalez and Esperanza Aragon. Her Father Jose Miguel Reyes Gonzalez was born in Canatlan, Mexico on a farm in an apple orchard. Her Mother was also born in Los Angeles, CA. Dolores’ Maternal Grandfather Simon Aragon was born in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico and Grandmother Catalina Novella Aragon was born in Sinaloa, Mexico.
Her work is inspired by the struggles of her Family and the unity of a large family raised in the same neighborhood in El Monte, CA, in an area called Hicks Camp. Throughout her life she has created images of the strong woman of her family.
Dolores retired from California in 2019 and is now a Tucson resident. Her love for the Sonoran Desert has given her a new found inspiration of peace and tranquility.
